Objectors win letters battle hands down
9/3/10Both sides pushed hard for their supporters to send representations to the planners but the final tally shows 1122 letters of objection to 807 of support.
The figures come from an addendum to the officer's report circulated at the strategic planning committee meeting on March 8th.
Supporters of Option A had previously claimed a 2:1 advantage over objectors. The actual result is further evidence that the majority of residents in Penzance remain opposed Option A and building on Battery Rocks beach.
As well as a quantitative win it is also clear that far more of the objector letters were personally written rather than form letters.
