Friends comment on draft Alternative Options Appraisal
5/7/09The Friends of Penzance Harbour have now seen and commented on a draft of the report on alternatives to the Route Partnership scheme to build on Battery Rocks beach which is being prepared for Cornwall Council by the consultants Halcrow.
The Route Partnership had originally promised protesters the opportunity to provide input from the start of the appraisal. When this didn’t happen it was agreed that the FoPzH would see and be able to comment on a draft of the report before it was finalised. This happened at a meeting between the FoPzH and Halcrow on May 30th. Following the meeting the FoPzH provided Halcrow with 17 pages of written feedback on the draft report.
It is now the responsibility of Halcrow to make sure that all comments and concerns are properly taken into account and that the final report is an accurate and objective assessment of the relative merits of the different options.
The report will only be available to the public when finalised. Watch this site for developments.
