Route Partnership talk about alternatives
4/5/09At a meeting brokered by Andrew George MP, the Friends of Penzance Harbour and the Route Partnership have started discussions about alternatives to building on Battery Rocks beach.
The informal meeting took place on April 28th and the Friends of Penzance Harbour are pleased that discussions about alternatives to the Route Partnership scheme have been possible. A follow-up meeting will take place in the next couple of weeks.
In the meantime the Friends of Penzance Harbour are urging the public to continue to send in objections to the Route Partnership’s planning application. The application will be heard for the first time at a planning hearing on July 7th and planners will consider objections from the public up until a few days before this meeting. Other ways in which you can help stop the Route Partnership development are detailed in our “How to Help” document.
Talks about alternatives are a helpful and welcomed development but until such time as the current planning application is withdrawn objectors must continue to push for its rejection.
